tombola Review: Own-Brand Bingo, Tiny Tickets and a Debit Card Catch
tombola builds its own bingo games, sells tickets from about 1p and attaches no wagering to its welcome bonus. We weighed that against a debit-card-only cashier and a slots range that lives on a separate arcade site.

Our verdict
tombola is still the UK bingo site to beat on games you cannot find elsewhere and on cheap tickets. The welcome match is up to 50 pounds, and its winnings are not tied to wagering. Payments are debit cards only, reported withdrawal times conflict, and slots sit on a separate Arcade app, so it is a bingo-first choice.
Best for: UK bingo players who want exclusive games and low-stake tickets
Most UK bingo sites sell the same games from the same suppliers in a different skin. tombola does not. It has built its games in-house since launching in 2005, so some of what you play simply does not exist at a rival. That is the pitch, and the pitch holds. What nearly lets it down is the cashier: debit cards only, with withdrawal times that depend on which page you believe.
A disclosure before the detail. tombola's own site refused our connection (HTTP 451), so we could not read its terms first-hand. Facts here come from BingoSites, Casino.org and the App Store, and we mark the places where they clash.
What you get that others do not
BingoSites says the games are made by tombola's own team and are not offered elsewhere, spread over 28 bingo rooms covering at least seven variants from 30 ball to 90 ball. Casino.org's review opens on the company's track record of transparency and trustworthiness, a reputation it calls well deserved.
tombola.co.uk
Casino.org's tombola review previews the site's games and quotes a 50 pound offer.
Exclusive games matter more than a long list of supplier logos. If every site you try runs the same third-party rooms, a format you cannot get anywhere else is a real reason to open an account, and that is the clearest case for tombola.
The flip side is portability. Because the software is tombola's own, your habits, favourite rooms and any strategy for choosing them stay on one site, so switching later means starting over with unfamiliar games.
Tickets from 1p
BingoSites puts bingo tickets at roughly 1p up to roughly 2 pounds. The App Store listing for the main app also mentions a maximum stake of 2 pounds on every bingo game, together with responsible-play tools, which fits that range. A penny ticket is the point of the product: it lets you play for an evening on a small, fixed budget.
The listing for the main app is rated 18+ and sells itself as real money bingo and slots, though BingoSites says the slots proper sit on the Arcade product described further down.
Penny rooms are not free, and small stakes add up. Decide how much an evening is worth before you log in, not after the third round.
The welcome offer, and what "no wagering" means
BingoSites lists a deposit from 10 pounds with a 100% match up to 50 pounds, first deposit only. It states that winnings can be withdrawn, bonus money cannot, and that the bonus cannot be used on tombola's roulette games. It also says there is no wagering requirement.
tombola.co.uk
BingoSites' tombola page summarises the welcome match and its terms.
Read that carefully. No wagering sounds generous, but the bonus itself is never yours to cash out, only what it helps you win. Compare it with sites that make you roll the bonus several times: tombola's rule is simpler, not larger.
Paying in and getting out
The cashier is the weak spot. BingoSites lists Visa, Visa Electron and Mastercard debit only, with a 10 pound minimum for deposits and withdrawals and no mention of fees. There is no PayPal. For a player who likes e-wallet speed, that is a deal-breaker.
Withdrawal timing is where sources split. The same BingoSites page gives "up to 3 working days" in one box, then 1 to 2 hours for Visa debit and 3 to 5 working days for other cards in its body text. A separate page about the sister site tombola Arcade quotes 3 to 5 working days for debit cards, from a source we do not trust. We would plan on several days until a first payout proves otherwise.
The slots live somewhere else
Slots and scratchcards, per BingoSites 21 and 14 of them, sit on tombola Arcade, a different site and app. The App Store describes tombola arcade as real money slots and more, rated 18+.
tombola.co.uk
tombola arcade is a separate app for slots, listed on the App Store.
If you want bingo and slots under one login, tombola splits them. If you only want bingo, that is fine.
Licensing, support and our call
BingoSites names the licence holder as Tombola Bingo International Plc under UK Gambling Commission licence 38613, with support around the clock by chat, phone, email and post. We could not check the UKGC register live, so please do so yourself. Trustpilot shows over 12,000 reviews for tombola bingo; a number that big attracts complaints about fairness as well as praise.
Choose tombola if you are a UK adult who wants bingo as bingo. Pass if you need e-wallets or a broad slots lobby.
